“Negative impacts, delays and lack of supply” in Jersey in case of no-deal Brexit

There will be negative impacts, delays and a lack of supply to Jersey in the event of a no-deal Brexit, Senator Ian Gorst said.

This follows the publication of the UK government’s no-deal Brexit contingency plan, Operation Yellowhammer.

The five page document, which would be the UK government’s worst-case Brexit predictions, warns of shortages on certain types of fresh produce and “significant” disruption in the English Channel.

Jersey’s foreign affairs minister said the government was “not complacent” about the risks the island would face in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
